Criteria for a Nobel Prize in Leadership Alan Weber (2009) wrote an article for the Washington Post, that focused on the criteria that one might use to suggest a nominee. In his article, Weber offered that candidacy for the prize should not be base upon â€Å"achievement broadly defined, or abstract qualities that can be attributed to leaders, but clear and undeniable moral authority† (Weber, 2009, para.1). Cook (2009) added that he would choose a nominee â€Å"who has pretty much transcended his or her own ego, and who sees humanity as interconnected in a vast system to which we all, ultimately, are contributing†(Cook, 2009, para.4).
